New Zealand Rimu is a highly sought after decorative timber featuring a rich colour and attractive grain. Each piece of Rimu Furniture is unique, displaying the beautiful, figured grain with colours of deep red, chocolate brown and occasional honey hued pigmented streaks.

 

Sorenmobler is committed to sourcing NZ Rimu from Ministry of Forestry approved sustainable yield plans and permits. This ensures an ongoing supply (albeit small) of this increasingly valuable resource, and also that the overall forest eco-systems are maintained. The NZ Government Ministry of Forestry Plans and Permits use "best Practice Silviculture Techniques" including assessing forest health and regenerative capacity, selective helicopter logging and re-planting to ensure the forests and native eco systems are maintained in perpetuity.
